Pre-publication poster of the book, now called “Rhesus A”.

To purchase visit Amazon Kindle, or simply visit and buy the story of vampire Ashley for just £3.42 (please note, the price can change without notice) in the UK.

Hopefully, this edition has fixed the errors… please let me know if problems still persist.

“Rhesus A” Withdrawn Temporarily

Just letting people know that Rhesus A has been pulled from sale. This means that there should be no new hardcopy or e-book versions on sale. Having said this, I am sure that some local shops and niche suppliers may still have copies available. Likewise with second-hand copies.

Books 1 and 2 of the Ashley Zetterburg series (Rhesus A and Vanguard Coven) will be edited and released at some stage in the future. A major prompt in this decision was the following review on Amazon:

New!                  JugsMacguyver reviewed Rhesus A

So close…                 6 July 2012
The actual storyline is great. Well paced, engaging characters, not your average vampire book. Sadly, this was hard to find through the infuriating spelling errors, grammatical errors and words that were completely omitted. It really doesn’t appear that the book was proof read at all. It’s also a bit strange that the British main character swings between calling her mother mum and mom sentence by sentence. Disappointing…
It is an enticing review, honest and informative. And I agree with it totally. So, off to the editor it is. Maybe that teaches me for not getting the manuscript edited in the first place!

Finally after more than 60 downloads I have ended the preview of “Vanguard Newborn”. Many thanks to all those who contributed.

Initially, it will be available as paperback through Amazon (and possibly PaperPlus and Whitcoulls later), and followed by multiple format e-book versions. Note that the finished edition has the prologue and a greatly different storyline than previous editions.

VN Update

Posted in Rhesus A - a Vanguard Newborn with tags , , , , , on February 8, 2012 by Kaden Brown

It looks like the price of VN will be US$9.99 (NZ$11.99 at today’s rates) or US$11.99 (NZ$14.40). Hopefully copies will be available by the end of February. We are currently looking at two versions, one uses 11pt Times New Roman font, the other with 12pt TNR font.

The difference is great when it comes to the end product: 11pt equals 366 pages; 12pt equals 424 pages. I prefer the 12pt font as it makes for an easier read, rather than the academic style mass of text on each page.

In addition, pending other drastic last-minute disasters/crises, the name of the book has been changed to “Rhesus A” with the sub-title “a Vanguard Newborn”. Here is the new cover:

Until publishing time, the early manuscript of VN (which FYI has since been seriously changed, and does not include the prologue) is still available for review. You can click here to download the pdf version. The prologue will be available to read in advance, exclusively at Kiwi Writers ( shortly prior to the publish date.

I’ll Bite Your Face Off

I just came across this great t-shirt and thought I’d pass it on.

I had to laugh – it’s just like one Zetty wears when she kills the pub manager.

So, I’ve been having a good old read of VN – and yeah it is pretty good to read – and, one thing I have noticed is that there are a number of simple formatting and other errors (which should have been picked-up at editing) that will necessitate a number of re-submissions/ re-proof (if that is a word).

The February timeline is still on, as this eventuality has been factored in. Some changes are required and hopefully in the next week the revised proof will be on it’s way.

Exciting times ahead 🙂

Lilith is coming along nicely too. FYI, it will be a much ‘darker’ novel than VN.

On we go with Lilith a Dark Immortal Novel

So, at-last Vanguard Newborn is finished and awaiting the copy edit. Hopefully I get some takers in the local area. Even if that doesn’t happen, I’m prepared to go as far as Australia or the US to get it done. Or, anywhere. Incidently, I have posted the dumped opening two chapters from VN that I really, really hate. Have a look if you want…but heed the poor content warning.

Lilith, a Dark Immortal Novel is underway again and though I’m not 100% happy with my writing I will sacrifice minor glitches for now, in favour of getting the story written. Then I can go back and fix the parts I am not happy with. If it ain’t written I can’t do a rewrite, can I?

So, I’m pretty happy.
